Dr. Mick Moloney, of New York University presents a lecture entitled Ed Reavy His Music His Influence on Friday May 15th 2015 at Cavan County Museum Ballyjamesduff. This will be followed by a music session in the Museum featuring a number of artists including Mick Moloney, Antoin MacGabhann, Martin Gaffney, James McGovern. At 10pm an open music session will commence in The Royal Bar Ballyjamesduff and everybody is welcome.

Fleadh Entry Closing April 30th

The closing date for entry to 2015 Fleadh which is being held in Swanlinbar (May 29th to June 1st) is April 30th.

Congratulations to all the children who took part in the County Fleadh over the weekend. We would like to thank all the teachers and parents who encourage and support the young musicians throughout the year. A special thanks to Catriona Cullivan Smith and Eimear O’Reilly for their fantastic work with our two Grupai Cheoils . Both got first place! Well done to all.

Bealtaine Festival , running for the month of May.

Cavan Town Comhaltas are delighted to be associated with this year’s Bealtaine Festival, which runs for the month of May and celebrates creativity in the aged. On Bank Hoilday Monday, young musicians visited Virginia Health Centre and played for the residents and on this Sunday 11th May , a group of musicians will play in St. Christopher’s Hospice from 2pm-3pm.
