Imperial Sunday Sessions
Jigs and Reels workshops and session
Starting from Sunday September 2nd the Imperial sessions will deal with advance jigs and reels ran by The Donohoe family.
There will be two Sundays every month dealing with jigs, one will be for under 12’s and one for over 12’s.
Tunes for these sessions are listed under the tunes tab as Level 1 (found on the top bar of the website). These sessions will work solely on Level 1. Tunes from our beginner’s list will no longer be covered.
Participants in these “jigs sessions” will need to be able to play solo any one of the tunes from the beginners list. These sessions will be on from 4:40 to 5:40. Prior to the “jig Sunday session” there will also be workshops with Savannah at which there will only be 12 in each workshop group and it will be on a first come first served basis. You can contact Savannah by text at 086 206 8969. It will cost €5 per week per child. Savannah will run her workshop from 3.30 to 4.30 and then the jigs session will follow on for an hour.
The jig session 4:40pm-5:40pm will cost €2 per child per week and if the child has participated in the workshop with Savannah, in the previous hour, this session is for free. Obviously some parents are content that their own teachers are covering these specific jigs, and don’t need this workshop. The workshop is designed to help overcome falling behind while playing in the “Sunday jig sessions”.
The other two Sundays in the month will be for Level 2 the “reels sessions”.
Here a child has to be able to play 6 reels, solo, without notes. If they can achieve this standard they will be allowed to play with this group.
Tunes for these sessions are listed under the tunes tab as Level 2 (found on the top bar of the website). There will be a workshop with Kavan prior to these sessions on the “reels Sundays”. Again there will only 12 in each workshop group and it will be on a first come first served basis. Text Kavan direcly at 086 070 4827.
It will cost €5 per week. Kavan will run his workshop from 3.30 to 4.30 and then the reels session will follow on for an hour 4:40pm -5:40pm. The reel session will cost €2 per child per week and if the child has participated in the workshop with Kavan, in the previous hour, this session is for free. The reels session will cover at least one reel per week.
To select the tunes, point the cursor to Foinn/Tunes at the top of the website screen and wait for the drop down menu, and select choice.
Please check the website weekly where we will inform parents as to which session will be on the following Sunday.

Sunday, September 16 – OPEN DAY 4:30 pm Beginner’s tunes +jigs open to new musicans with guest tutor.
