Following the success of their 2007 album Pride of the West, renowned duo, John Wynne (Flute) and John McEvoy (Fiddle), announce their latest collaboration, The Dancer at the Fair. There are twelve tracks on the album and the tune choice is a blending of the old and the new in captivating medleys, alongside straight reel, jig, and hornpipe tracks, including the playful title track The Dancer at the Fair. As one would expect from these experienced performers, their music is fresh and natural under both finger and bow and executed with a crisp energy and deftness. Following the CD launch, there will be an open session and they will be joined by the 2023 Ed Reavy Senior Fddle Winner and multi instrumentalist, Ademar O’Connor – a night not to be missed. Free entry.
Our Saturday night concert will take place at 8pm in the Town Hall Theatre, Cavan and features Carlos Sweeney McCartin, with support from Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan Harp Ensemble and the 2024 Ed Reavy International Fiddle winners. A special tribute will also be paid to the wonderful Seamus Fay, by one of our inspirational young lilters. Tickets (€15 each) are available from Town Hall Theatre via the link – BOOK FOR CONCERT
