The following clip is from Garreth Maguire who made this video of a traditional music weekend held in Cavan at the Old Mill in 1997. Great memories of our members check it out and see a young Aoife Murray learning her craft, Kavan Donohoe as a tot trying out the headphones while his dad Cavan Town Branch Chairman and driving force which brought Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann to Cavan is interviewed by the late Pheilim Cox, RIP. Other members such as Seamus Fay and Cavan County Board Chairman Philip Clarke appear also. Just goes to show the effort made by stalwarth members has paid dividents for our county. Had they a crystal ball in 1997 would they have believed that twelve years later Cavan town would play host to the first of three consecutive Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann. Just goes to show from little acorns…
