Celebrations took place in the Town Hall last Saturday 22nd of December. A host of artists travelled from near and far to celbrate with Seamus on his birthday and to pay tribute to his many achievements. Seamus despite a recent injury once again rose to the occasion and performed for the crowd. A wonderful clip from 1959 was played to the audience featuring Seamus and his mother liliting folowing his All Ireland win. This clip is available on the link in the last post below. Many thanks to Denise Walshe for uncovering the recording and to her father Michael Walshe who recorded the clip in 1959 and to Fintan McManus for editing it and bringing it to MP3 format. Celebrations continued in the Farnham Arms with the Fay family home from the USA. We hope they all enjoyed the night and we look forward to many more occasions when we can enjoy the talent and energy only Seamus can bring to an occasion. We would also like to thank Fintan McManus for doing a wonderful job, as always, on the sound system. Many thanks to Karen Grant for her delicious cake and a special thank you to all performers, singers, musicians and dancers for making the special effort to come out and share their talent making the night as special one. A video was shot on the night we will have more details of that later. The recording from 1959 really brings home the importance of recording moments in time and the talent we have around us right now.
