Launch of festival and opening session with the Legendary Donegal fiddle player Danny Meehan, Darren Breslin (All Ireland Box Champion 2008) from Fermanagh, Dónal McCague, whose fiddle album Bits ‘n’ Pieces shot to fame last year, Michael McCague (Guitar) of ‘At the Racket’ and ‘At First Light’ fame and Seán McElwain (bouzouki) of ‘Téada’ fame at 9pm in McCagues Bar in Scotstown.

Danny Meehan is the recipient of the life time music award, An Gradam Saoil, from the Tg4 Gradam Ceoil awards 2012. Danny spent a good part of his life inLondonand was part of the thriving irish music scene there. He has always maintained the distinct Donegal fiddle style and has inspired many young fiddle players. He is as famous for a good story or a bar of a song in a session as he is for his fiddle playing. Danny has released a new very eagerly awaited fiddle album and we are delighted to have him launch it in Scotstown as part of our festival.
