The past few weeks have seen our branch members entertain visitors from Switzerland, USA and far flung parts of Ireland. All were impressed with the variety of the programme and the number of performers we had on each night, up to 50 and special guests performing each night. Last week we had beautiful playing from our special guests James McGovern, Flute, Padraig McGovern, Uillean Pipes and their sister Rachel on Fiddle. We were also joined by artist Carlotta Hester and her guests from Washington. Carlotta will be exhibiting her drawings in an exhibition named ‘The Pure Drop’ during Fleadh Cheoil 2012 and made many sketches of performers on the night.
Remember Summer Seissiun continues in the Farnham Arms Hotel tonight at 8pm. Traditional music, song and dance. Great night planned with host of County, Ulster and All-Ireland winners. Two ceili bands, Groupa Cheoil 12-15 Ulster contenders, Sean Nos dancers and Michael Curran All-Ireland winner 2011, a great night ahead. Check out our website gallery to see some of last weeks performers which included our teenagers furthering their stage craft and taking the mike to present and introduce their friends act. Congrats to all who perfomed and presented with such polish and best of luck in Ulster to those who treated us to a sneak preview of their performance for Fleadh Cheoil Uladh.
